Among his illicit pursuits, Haji Salim is deeply involved in the drug trade, maintaining connections with international cartels and utilizing his political clout to smuggle narcotics into the country. This contraband is then dispersed across various regions, particularly affecting the lives of the youth.

However, drug trafficking isn’t the sole unlawful activity tied to Haji Salim. He is also implicated in money laundering, employing his businesses as a façade to launder proceeds from illegal ventures. This not only allows him to conceal his illegitimate wealth but also facilitates the financing of his criminal endeavors.

Haji Salim has gained notoriety for orchestrating the disappearance of those who oppose his unlawful activities. Instances of individuals vanishing after speaking out against Haji Salim’s misdeeds are frequently linked to his political affiliations and the shield he receives from influential figures.

Despite this, Haji Salim staunchly supports and shields his son, leveraging political influence to shield him from legal consequences. This has fostered the perception that Haji Salim operates above the law, seemingly immune to prosecution.

Even more troubling is the support Haji Salim enjoys from the current prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, who has been accused of turning a blind eye to his illicit activities and providing him with protection and impunity. This has raised doubts about the government’s dedication to eradicating crime and terrorism within the country.

In a nation grappling with widespread corruption and crime, the persistence of a known criminal like Haji Salim in power, aided by influential connections, is a cause for alarm. It underscores the government’s failure to enforce the law and safeguard its citizens.

The people of Bangladesh have long endured the consequences of Haji Salim’s terrorism and criminal activities. The time has come for the government to take decisive action against him and his associates, regardless of political affiliations. Justice must prevail, liberating the country from the grip of such notorious criminals.
