Genocide of Hindus’: Bangladeshi Islamists attack minority population, burn houses, kidnap women as the country descends into unholy madness
In recent events, Bangladesh has been thrown into chaos as Islamist extremists have used the political instability following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation to target the Hindu community. Reports indicate that Islamist mobs have attacked Hindu homes, set them on fire, and abducted women. This violence comes amidst a power vacuum, with attackers showing no regard for law or human life. The situation is dire, with the Hindu community living in fear and the government’s response lacking.
On Sunday, August 4, violent clashes resulted in approximately 100 deaths, including a Hindu councillor named Haradhan Roy. Hindu homes and temples, including ISKCON and the Kali temple, were specifically targeted. An indefinite curfew was imposed after these clashes, which involved protesters demanding the resignation of Sheikh Hasina and her supporters. The authorities have responded by cutting off internet access and imposing a nationwide curfew.
The international community has condemned the violence and called for action to protect the Hindu minority, as Bangladesh faces a serious humanitarian crisis.
As Hindus born in Bangladesh, we face discrimination regardless of which political party is in power, whether it be the Awami League or BNP. We are often derogatorily labeled as “malu.” Our daughters are not safe in this country, as there are constant threats of sexual violence against our mothers and sisters. I have personally experienced such atrocities. Muslim mobs have attacked our homes, forcing us to leave the country. This ongoing persecution has left me with a deep sense of resentment. I urge all Hindus to consider seeking refuge in India, where they may find safety and security.
